Job Opportunity – Spike Print Studio Director wanted

Spike Print Studio seeks a new Studio Director to provide artistic vision and leadership. We are looking for a good networker with extensive knowledge of the contemporary art sector alongside commercial experience.

Spike Print Studio is the largest open access print studio in the South West. Its mission is to provide exceptional resources, inspiration, training and space for artists and by doing so, to advance printmaking. It provides excellent resources for traditional printmaking processes such as intaglio, relief and screen-printing. The studio is open to artists of all levels of experience and provides 24-hour access to key holder members.

The Studio Director is responsible for the external visibility of the Print Studio, and to oversee the artistic and learning activity, events and programmes, along with Editioning, that will increase income streams. The post holder is also responsible for fundraising, and managing a small team of staff, based at Spike Print Studio in Spike Island, Bristol.

You will need a flexible approach to working as some evening and weekend work may be necessary. This post is a fixed term contract for one year with the possibility of continuation pending funding.

Location: Bristol

Deadline: 5pm on Friday 3 October 2008

Salary: £ 25,000 (pro rata); 2 days a week, on an initial one year contract.
