Leinster Printmaking Studio

The Leinster Printmaking Studio was formed in 1998, with support from the Arts Council and Kelt, (Kildare Enterprise Leader Teoranta). It is a ‘safe’ or ‘green’ studio with 40 members who work in different processes and it exhibits regularly at venues all over Ireland. It is currently participating in the Country Arts Touring Exhibition, South Australia, in conjunction with Wrexham Regional Print Studio as the invited International project.

Recent exhibitions include “Le Chéile”, a collaboration in printmaking between the Clane and the Wrexham studios, held in the Graphic Studio Gallery, Dublin, March, 2009, and “Bog 50 x 70“, an exhibition of prints inspired by the Bog of Allen, curated by Peter Jones and held in The Factory Space, Capel Street, Dublin in April 2009.

The Leinster Printmaking Studio caters for anyone with an interest in printmaking, from the beginner to the professional artist. It offers facilities for producing prints by intaglio, aquatint, carborundum, photoetch and lithography. The studio comprises two large rooms, and several smaller rooms which hold the etching and aquatint facilities, the guillotine and the dark room. The studio has five presses, an exposure unit, a guillotine, a drying press and plenty of storage space.

The studio often invites artists to give talks and demonstrations in a variety of techniques.
