Print Presentation to Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery
Last night, the limited edition print by Anna Marrow was formally presented to the City Museum.
At the AGM of the Collectors Group on the 4th March 2008, Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery were presented with one of the prints for their collection in a joint venture by the Contemporary Collectors of Bristol and Bath and the Friends of Bristol Art Gallery. This kind of initiative signifies an enormous support for both the artist and for the City of Bristol and celebrates a number of Bristol art organisations working together. We all hope that this will be an annual event, thus allowing a Bristol print portfolio to build up over the years and establish a legacy of printmaking in Bristol.
Anna’a work combines drawing, text and collage to convey confusion and excitement; the accelerated pace of our lives and how we can feel trapped by that. her work is light-hearted but with an underlying tension, hoping to suggest a story without telling everything.
The print is a six colour screenprint entitled ..get me out of here, paper size 56cm x 38cm and available as an edition of 50 at the special price of £ 95. Contact Spike Print Studio on 0117 9290135 or email gill@spikeprintstudio.org
