Spike Print Studio

For over thirty years, Spike Print Studio in Bristol has been a space for artists to make prints. Our mission is to provide exceptional resources, inspiration, training and space for artists and by doing so, to advance printmaking. Now with over 150 members, it is growing rapidly in its ambition. Recently the Studio has become a publisher of high quality and innovative contemporary limited edition prints, working with international artists such as Mariele Neudecker and Wood & Harrison.

Why be a Friend?

Please support our work and that of the members who work here. During 2008 we plan a wide range of exciting exhibitions and courses, workshops and talks available to all. We do not receive any core funding and our costs to keep the equipment and administration operating to a high standard are growing. If you like to have a closer relationship with us, our exhibitions and learning programme, please consider becoming a Friend of Spike Print Studio.

How much will it cost?

There are two strands:

• £40 - a one-off subscription for a year.
• £95 (can be paid either a s a lump sum or standing order of £ 8 a month)

What do I get?

For £40 you get:

• 10% discounted access to prints, framing and courses
• invites to private views and a newsletter twice a year
• invite to our annual event

For £ 95 you get:
A commissioned Limited Edition screenprint by artist member Simon Tozer entitled ‘windblown mule’ as pictured. Simon’s work usually commands prices in the range of £65 - £90 for one of his ‘donkey’ prints. He is one of the Print Studio’s ‘best sellers’ and the ‘sole arbiter of the little known ‘Miserablist’ art movement… plus

Corporate Friends Scheme

Become a corporate friend and your organisation will help advance the international reputation of Spike Print Studio and actively contribute to growing the cultural fabric of Bristol.

We aim to work closely with our Corporate Friends developing a range of benefits that are relevant and meaningful to each organisation and for an annual fee of £500 we offer the opportunity for staff to learn about contemporary art and collecting prints, a reduced rate print loan scheme and exclusive previews of our exhibitions.
