My work focuses on the repetition of everyday tasks. I seek to transform the mundane into the monumental. For me the processes of drawing: the marks made are as important as the subject, acting as proof and reminder of the artist's hand and presence.
My subjects, household items and kitchen utensils, are the tools of my trade and are integral to my family life. Often when breaking off from drawing, the item in focus has to be removed from the studio to the kitchen to perform its intended function. For this reason I have included artist’s tools such as paintbrushes in amongst kitchen items, symbolising my dual role.
