An introduction to monotype and monoprint
(and what is the difference?)
This is an experimental workshop mainly using plastic drypoint plates. Participants will explore different approaches to making monoprints and monotypes with and without an etching press to develop their own images.
The workshop will explore mark-making, drypoint on plastic plates and the variations that can be made from a single image.
The workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those who want to ‘free up’ their printmaking – All materials will be provided but please bring drawings, sketches and/or photographs to work from. You can also bring any old prints/proofs and different papers you could print on.
Ros Ford VPRWA, RE lives and works in Bristol. Her prints and paintings are exhibited, collected and held in public and private collections in the UK and internationally.
Inspired by the unordered, the overlooked and the sideshows of life, her work is mostly about functional structures and buildings that are often unnoticed.
