Starts October 6th, 2020

Spike Print Studio is pleased to announce that it is partnering with The Lemonade Press to deliver off site courses and workshops in lithography for students, artists and teachers.
The Lemonade Press is based in Horfield, Bristol thelemonadepress.co.uk and is run by Catherine Ade.
This course is an introduction into:
- stone lithography
- aluminium plate lithography
- drawing techniques and materials,
All drawing and processing materials are provided and additional aluminium plates are available to buy. Please bring your sketchbook and notebook. Like many printing processes, solvents are used in lithography, so bring a respirator if you have one. If you don’t but would like to invest in one, please ask for a recommendation.
The course is a practical introduction to lithography. The beginning of the workshop is devoted to the demonstration of processing and printing. It is from this fundamental understanding of the theory that the exploration of the many techniques of traditional printing from can be achieved. Because each participant has different skills and approaches to their art making, there will be plenty of individual attention.
Like many printing processes, solvents are used in lithography, so bring a respirator if you have one. We will have individual respirators available for you use for the duration of the course.
Advice about papers most suitable for lithography is provided during the course.
