Morgan Doyle, a graduate of Chelsea School of Art, is a painter and printmaker. He rarely makes conventionally editioned prints, preferring to work with monoprint and mixing a variety of print media with hand-colouring and so on to produce unique prints. The layering of the surface is a metaphor for memory, and his images have a dream-like poetic character. His subjects are architecture and landscape, and often as here, an amalgamation of the two. His method of working creates dramatic atmospheric effects, and aptly imitates the weathered surfaces of buildings and their settings.
