Mono printing is an exciting and fast technique that allows artists to bring the freedom and immediacy of painting and drawing into their printed works and add experimental flourishes and fluidity to a series. Over the weekend you’ll learn various forms of mono printing, experimenting with mono painting, mono drawing and reduction techniques to make vibrant artworks with luscious oil-based inks. Students will be shown techniques of contemporary mark making using a variety of tools to create sweeping warped geometric patterns, play with hand painted elements with vibrant colours, create textures and organic aesthetics or incorporate their own imagery. Push your work in exciting new directions with experimental one-off prints and evolving mono printed series.
