Polymer Photogravure is an acid free technique, which enables artists to realise an exquisite range of rich and velvety tones and detail in a plate. This method uses steel plates with a light sensitive coating. You will be shown how to make a plate using a film positive, ultraviolet light and water to develop the image. These plates are then printed in the same way as an etching plate through a printing press. Images can be used from digital cameras, as well as mobile phones
