Dark Matter, an exhibition of artist Zack Townsend's recent works at Spike Print Studio, September 26th - 28th, 2025.
Zack is a long standing member of our technical team and has just completed an MA at CGL Art School with a Distinction.
“My practice is a multidisciplinary investigation into strange encounters: weird landscapes, atmospheric pulses, and nocturnal spaces - eerie scenes that explore light, darkness and the twilight space in between. Inspired by film and literature, I am playfully pairing film stills and photography, overlaying fictional narratives onto landscapes,in a series of drawings that hover somewhere between reality and invention.”
One of the highlights from Townsend's show was a photopolymer etching titled Saudade which he perfected over countless late night printing session here at SPS, guided into its magical final outcome with support from one our print tutors Martyn Grimmer.
