10 Week Etching

This course is aimed at those who are new to etching, those who need a refresher and those that are looking to continue their practice. You will come away with a strong foundation and confidence to pursue your own projects,

We will  cover the basic principles of etching, from hard and soft ground to an introduction to aquatint. You will produce a set of plates that can be inked in colour and in combination with each other, in order to explore multiple plate registration techniques.

More advanced techniques and processes will be introduced to those who wish to further develop their practice.  This could be in the areas of drypoint, etching, monotype, monoprint, collagraph and embossing, all intaglio processes.
