5 week Screenprinting on Fabric

Join Emma for this fun introduction to printing on fabric, using screen print. We will start with paper stencils to understand the process and to play with overlapping colours, and then learn how to turn your motif/idea into a REPEAT PATTERN and translate this to positives for photo emulsion screens. You will be shown how to coat and expose screens ready to print a 2-colour repeating pattern on fabric, which can then be used to make a cushion or a lampshade at home. You will also design and print one of your ideas onto a tote bag in the studio.

Suitable for complete beginners or those with some previous textile/printing experience.

Emma has a BA (Hons) in Textile Design and an MA in Multi-Disciplinary Print. She uses screen print as a drawing tool to explore the relationship between colour, shape and pattern. She is one of our highly experienced tutors and also leads our Year in Textiles Printmaking Portfolio Course.
